The V6500Z features HP QuickPlay 3.2 which lets you start music and movies at the touch of a button, as well as access photos. An optional remote controls QuickPlay from up to 10 feet away and can be stored in the ExpressCard slot. Transfer photos from your digital camera via the media card reader, then edit, print, organize, share, and store. Select a SuperMulti DVD±RW/R drive and turn pictures into movies, or edit videos and burn CDs and DVDs. Go a step further with the LightScribe option on the SuperMulti DVD+/RW/R drive (33 percent faster than the previous version), which lets you burn silkscreen-quality labels on discs.

The HP xb3000 Notebook Expansion Base (sold separately) connects your V6500Z to peripherals, including a monitor if you want a desktop-like experience. For wireless connections, the V6000Z provides integrated 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN with optional Bluetooth.
