Very often you find your clothes wet during rainy season and you sometimes end up wearing your wet clothes. A cloth drier dries your wet cloths to such a level that you straight away fold it and put it in your cupboard.

While choosing your drier think of your family size if you have just a kid and for three a small drier shall be fine and if your family is an extended one with saas, bahu etc go for a bigger version.

The products available right now in the market are quite expensive one of the reason for their being non popular. It is available in the price range of Rs. 14,000 to 49,000 for a big one

Cycle time range
Cycle time range refers to the minimum and maximum amount of time that you can set your dryer to run in one uninterrupted cycle.

Minimum cycle time range
Minimum cycle time range available is 30 to 45 minutes. You can set the dryer to this cycle time when you have and quick drying clothes, for instance, synthetic sarees. A lower cycle time helps save electricity and is very useful for small loads.

Maximum cycle time range
This is the range you would set for your jeans and other thick materials as these take time to dry. Besides, setting to the maximum cycle is better than running two or three cycles. The maximum cycle time range available is 180 minutes. Even cotton clothes take time to dry, so if you are the jeans and kurta category, the maximum cycle range will be more useful.

OTHER FEATURES
Number of heat settings
This refers to the number of pre-fixed temperature ranges at which the dryer can be used. For example, a regular cycle for heavy, durable, normal, everyday clothes requires higher temperatures than a delicate clothes cycle for synthetics, silks and sheers. More number of heat settings is good for those of you with a varied wardrobe of cottons, silk, synthetic, denim and so on.

Lint filter
This helps collect all the loose threads and lint that come off your clothes when drying. It ensures high efficiency of the machine and is also a must from the safety point of view as lint could lead to fire threat due to the high temperatures in the machine. When shopping for a dryer, ask for a sturdy, sizable lint filter that can be cleaned easily; a clogged filter decreases the dryer's efficiency and might also cause a fire.

Safety Reset
It is a safeguard for your clothes and other fabrics. This feature will shut off your dryer if it gets overheated.

Reversing action
A reversible door ensures ease of access in case you want to move the dryer to a new location. The reversing action will ensure that the clothes don't get tangled. Here, the tumbling direction is reversed. This also helps dry clothes evenly and more efficiently. This is especially useful for large piles of laundry.
Vent kit
There are hardly any ventless models available in India.
A dryer vents hot air outdoors with an aluminium or rigid steel duct. These are very expensive with very limited choice.

Dear Lalithaji,
Today only I saw your article on cloth drier. This is a very new product to our country and Iam pretty sure most of the people would not be aware of this product.Though it is well known and used product in foreign countries it is a new unpopular product to us.I heard in foreign countries people take out clothes from drier and wear them at once without the need for ironing.I wonder how it is possible but now we get the drier in India itself. It will be very useful for people like us living in northern part of India as in winters it would be a big problem to get the clothes dried. The price of driers will decrease as it gets a little more popular.Thank you very much for the in formations Lalithaji it is very informative and helpful.
Regards,
Sudhersana.
