Drug overdose-what are the reasons?
|
With the death of Michael Jackson, the effects of drug overdose has claimed another celebrity. Heath Ledger was another, who died under similar circumstances. Both were very talented and could hold sway over millions of fans. what really made them to take such decisions?
It could be the curse that a celebrity life brings with it. Along with the accolades for the accomplishments, equal focus is given to their private life and the mistakes they make are magnified by the press. As they feel their emotional freedom is curtailed, they begin to take refuge in drugs, which give them a false and temporary level of relaxation.
The habit of depending on drugs to overcome stress is not only seen in celebrities, but also in people in high pressure jobs. When a person takes a Saridon, to keep away the headache, he invariably depends on the drug, which is not prescribed by a doctor, to cure a common illness caused due to the stress put on the body. In course of time, he starts to depend so much on the drug that without it, he feels unsafe to travel. A whole pack is bought and it becomes a permanent part of his baggage. This is a gradual form of drug addiction, which taken continuously, causes long term health problems. A similar case is when people take drugs like Action 500 to cure cold.
Thus at some point of time, we are starting to depend on drugs, for our existence and well being, when all our body needs is good habits, healthy eating and rest.
