Route to Vajreshwari

Here's a detailed route for people wishing to travel down to Vajreshwari from either central suburbs or western suburbs.

Vajreshwari is situated in Bhiwandi, of Thane District. It is approximately 75 km from Mumbai. The closest rail station for people living in western suburbs of Mumbai, who plan to go to Vajreshwari is Vasai Road station. From Vasai road station many buses ply regularly to Vajreshwari. The distance from Vasai Road station to Vajreshwari is approximately one and a half hour.

If one plans to hit the road, then the best way to reach Vajreshwari from western suburbs is by taking the Western Express highway to Dahisar Check naka and then routing up the National highway no.8 to straight Vajreshwari junction which goes directly TO Shirsad, and finally the state highway right upto Vajreshwari. This drive takes approximately around 2 hours.

The nearest rail station for people from Central suburbs of Mumbai is Thane station which is around 34 km from Vajreshwari. Many state transport buses regularly ply from Thane to Vajreshwari. During holidays, special buses are available for the same journey, considering the traffic of tourists.

For people who wish to take the road, from Central suburbs, the best route to Vajreshwari is to start off by Eastern Express highway, pay the toll and continue journey till the Mulund check naka, continue the journey further by moving along the flyovers upto the Nasik road. Further on, moving along the straight road until it reaches the Bhiwandi bypass toll and around 10 – 12 km more when the junction arrives which mentions right to Kalyan and left to Bhiwandi. Take the left for Bhiwandi and continue the journey till you reach the junction from where the straight going road takes you directly to Vajreshwari, around 20 km further.

One can find enough signboards all along the road, hence there is no area for confusion. Few landmarks that can be kept in mind include the Great Escape Water park and the Usgaon water dam.
