Review: Yet Another "Classic" Masterpiece From Apple
Review By: Sidharth    Review Date: 05 Nov 2008

Keeping up the expectations from Apple company, it has again brought forward an exciting model to enhance litening to music or wathcing high resolution videos. iPod classic is a newer latest version by Apple which has enormous storage capablities of whopping 160GB of memory which in turn can hold about 40,000 songs or about 200 hours of video.

Bright attractive silver design, less weight compared to other music players, cool 2.5 inch diplay screen and numerous other features makes it worth the money. It supports BMP, JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF and PSD image formats. For Digital audio, Supported audio formats are Protected AAC, Audible 3, WAV, MP3 VBR, Audible 2, AIFF, MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless and Audible 4. Regarding videos it supports MPEG-4 type formats only. Besides the regular features of iPod, it also has Built-in games, Phone book, USB 2.0 compatibility, Calendar, Upgradeable firmware and Playback speed control.

The life of battery is excellent which is enough to last till about 40 hours of music or about 7 hours of video playback. It generally takes the full recharge time of about only 4 hours. Keeping all these exciting features in mind, iPod classic gets about 9 out of 10 from my side. Some of the dissapointing features of this product includes limited warranty period of 1 year as well as its cost which would surely ping the customers pocket - Rs. 15000/-

Finally, to all the music lovers and all the iPod fans all over the world, its time you should take this masterpiece under your ownership and enjoy the pleasure from it.I personally would love to buy the iPod Classic with more storage capabilty, and endless media sastisfaction.

Review: iPod - The universal name on everyones mouth
Review By: Ankush Das    Review Date: 15 Nov 2008

Apple invented a gadget known as the iPod. Once it was officially launched, it started a new era for the Portable Music Player(PMP) players. Now the iPod has become a dictionary word. Talk of MP3 players and iPod comes to ones mind. Even small kindergarten kids know what an iPod is. Well, lets stop talking about this and let us talk about the iPod Classic.

iPod Classic was the first iPod to be launched by Apple. That time not many MP3 players existed and this new technology was just coming up. But the iPod over the years has changed itself and its name is now synonymous with quality. The iPod has revolutionized the way we listen to our music.

The iPod Classic has been revamped a lot over the past years. The most nifty and the most addictive tool is the Clickwheel scroller. Just move your fingers over it and surf the whole music collection. It is so much much of an addiction that I once found myself playing with the clickwheel for over an hour. It has recently in its product update introduced a sensor known as the accelerometer which existed in the iPod Touch. What it does is that it senses the movement of the iPod towards a direction and adjusts the screen according to it. Whats more, you turn it right or left and the Cover Flow mode comes on wherein you can scroll through album artworks. Enough for features, lets move on to performance.

Listening to music on an iPod is like total nirvana. Its like being in heaven or bliss for that matter. Everything is simply perfect. The bass of rock and jazz, strings of pop, music of classical nothing is less than perfect. It has been engineered to perfection. Although the bundled earphones are simply a waste and can be disposed off literally. Hearing the iPod with a Sennheiser headphone is 100% perfect. The modes are very easy to scroll and the new firmware is even more peppy and faster. And 160 GB is simply more than enough to store all your songs and videos. Pity you cant take your iPod for the jog as it has a hard drive which might get damaged due to shocks and vibrations. Rest is fine. Watching a video is strictly OK due to the small screen although the clarity is quite good. Now lets move on to the looks.

During the recent upgrade, iPod Nano and the Touch received a complete new makeover but the poor ol Classic was left behind(I wonder now if thats how the name Classic came). It still sports the same design complete with a Stainless steel finish and it is quite good. The screen still smudge friendly. But other than that, the design is pretty much the same and the usual.

But it must be said that iPod has changed the way people look at current generation MP3 Players. So, the next time you into a market and feel regretted that you need that iPod somehow, go grab it now. Apple has reduced the price quite a lot and thus it makes it even more attractive.

I must say, iPod rules! Long live the iPod king in the Apple kingdom!

Review: Stylish All In One Gadget
Review By: sudhersana    Review Date: 15 Nov 2008

Apple is a reputed brand and ipod Classic 160 GB Silver comes from the stable of Apple. Apple never compromise on anything for its quality and so there is no doubt regarding the quality of the product.

I really love the silver finish and the looks of ipod classic 160 GB Silver, and this silver finish makes the ipod less prone to scratches. It has features like digital audio player, video player and digital photo viewer. It has an LCD 2.5 screen which is very clear and what I like is after playing the audio, within few seconds the screen turns into a watch which is amazing. It has a digital storage space of 160 GB which I think is a boon for those who have a passion for music, yes you can store more than 30,000 songs in this ipod,WOW ! that is really awesome. It also supports JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF,TIFF and PSD format images, any other format left ! I guess no. It supports almost all audio formats and has a video playback MPEG-4 Format. It also has additional features like built in games, phone book, USB 2.0 compatibility, calender and has a software included itunes. It has a rechargeable battery which is very durable and the estimated manufacturer battery life is 40 hrs, details as follows, has 7 hours video play back and 40 hour digital play back which I think is a reasonable lifetime for the battery.

Now what else can one expect as it is an all in one gadget that too in a very affordable price of Rs 15,000. I think it is a very good deal for this great looking ipod.

Review: Apple iPod classic - a music store
Review By: Latha Jayaprakash    Review Date: 16 Nov 2008

The apple ipod classic is the revamped model of Video ipod or the fifth generation ipod and you can save upto 160 GB of music and lots of music This version of Apple i pod comes in in two diferent colours, Black and Silver. This silver ipod classic has slim design but slightly thicker than the 80 GB version, with stainless steel finish and 40hr playing time. Additional features in this ipod are the extra long battery life (40 hours for music, maybe about 7or 8 hours for video) with which you can listen to loads of music wherever you go. You will not have to carry anything else.
This has got a huge hard drive for you to be able to store and listen to music audio books, podcasts, and movies in a compact, portable package.
This is a boon to the music lover who wants to carry music wherever one goes. This ipod does not need recharge often like a mobile
does so for the frequent travelers who tend to forget their chargers, this is actually a blessing in disguise.
There are only minor changes from the early models, like the anodized-aluminum face plate now replaces the glossy, all-plastic facade
The menu has been improved dramatically and one of the most beautiful and striking changes is a a split-screen main menu. The menu displays the selections on the right half of the screen and a picture related to the selection on the left. This effect is on all menu items such as movies, podcasts, and photos.
This Apple ipod classic phone supports video and music playback, as well as photos, podcasts, and video games. The iPod Classic supports H.264 or MPEG-4 video in MOV, MP4, or M4V file formats, with a maximum resolution of 640x480 at as much as 30 frames per second and also supports many of the video features we look for in portable video players, like it does a great job of resuming video playback at the point at which you had paused.
Apple have placed the shuffle setting options (Shuffle Song, Shuffle Album, or Shuffle Off) in a songs Now Playing window, and is giving you the ability to randomize songs until you find your favourite artist, it is like a dream come true. Apple has bundled three video games into both the iPod Classic and the Nano, for us to be able to spend our leisure time in a better way.
The iPod Classic allows for manually adding and deleting music and video files without the hassles of playlist syncing and can also be used as a USB hard drive in a pinch.

Review: iPod classic strikes back
Review By: chandra sekhar    Review Date: 18 Nov 2008

Yes, Apple strikes back with the new iPod classic. The name classic suggests that it is a product for long time iPod followers which means the people who are the fans of oPod for a long time. Its design reflects the same. Same old design with minor touch-ups at the end.

The iPod classic supports various video formats like H.264, MPEG4, MOV, MP4 with a maximum resolution of 640x480 and upto 30 FPS (frames per second) videos. Subtitles can be turned on or off as you wish unlike the older iPod classics.
You can use it as a simple USB storage device if you wish.

But from the performance point of view it is hard to beat iPod classic, either by music quality or its storage capacity. Music quality is so good and it rocks. The price is also competetive than some of emerging Portable Media Players including iPod itself (iPod Touch).

Cover Flow, Podcasting, Games
Auto resume of the last play

Review: iPod Classic 160 GB Silver
Review By: Sree.....    Review Date: 13 Aug 2009

The iPod Classic is the latest revamping of Apples iconic hard drive MP3 player, formerly known as the Video iPod or fifth-generation iPod. As Apples only remaining high-capacity MP3 player.

The iPod Classic has very few new features to talk about. Support for video and music playback, as well as photos, podcasts, and video games, are virtually unchanged.

Video output now requires a proprietary cable audio quality has not improved some older iPod video accessories may not be compatible users are required to use the latest version of iTunes, which may not work on some older computer systems.

The iPod Classic is a refinement of the formula that put the iPod on the map. Few can match its combination of storage capacity, battery life, and advanced user interface.
