Product: Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G

Review: Toyota Corolla Altis

The Altis is better than the previous one. The engine however remains the same and there is only one choice of your interior. However Toyota should put in a standard 1.8 engine. the Corolla is available with the base 1.8 and 2.4.

Review: Pretty comfortable car

The Corolla Altis looks really pretty at first sight, a quality that continues inside. The seats were very comfortable, and the driver was ecstatic to have an easily adjustable seat! The glove compartment was quite spacious as compared to others that I have seen. The music system, too, was beyond expectations - very clear music, and easy to reach controls. Overall it was a smooth drive.

Toyota Corolla though it is costly car, it is worth. Most important it has huge space inside which you won't find in any other car. It has good shape to look. Other feature are common like power steering. Also Fuel System Electronic Fuel Injection makes it distinguish from others. It gives lot of boost to car to accelerate and get speed in less time. Have a long drive on this extraordinary.

The all new Toyota Altis will flaunt new styling and more improved engine transmission technology for better power with refined fuel efficiency. The new Toyota Corolla Altis would have a blend of dynamism, elegance and style, that may be a reason to worry about for its competitors like Skoda and Honda.
Inside the hood of all new Toyota Corolla Altis, lies a 1.8 L Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i) engine that pumps out around 140 bhp. Toyota Altis car, through its soft plush seats, ample storage space, sound insulated interior design, centre armrest, integrated audio system, promises to offer a special treatment for its occupants. Equipped with Electronic Power Steering (EPS), better suspension and the tight turning radius, the Toyota Corolla Altis offers an efficient and easily maneuverable drive on the roads. The Toyota Corolla Altis car has been launched in 05 sizzling colors and having an approximate price tag of Rs. 13-14 Lakh.

Borneo Mtrs will likely see sales of its Corolla drop in 2008 for the 1st time in many years.

The "new" Corolla is way overpriced for this money. It is selling at Nissan Sylphy, Honda Civic and Mitsubishi Lancer EX prices, all of which have more technologically advanced engines.

There was a report in the papers when Borneo Mtrs first started importing the Thai Vios and Altis to S'pore. We were told that that would be no compromise in quality in this "Made by Toyota" product and the savings in manufacturing costs will be passed on to customers. But I don't see any savings.

I don't see how a Thai assembled automobile with most parts from Thailand except for engine and gearbox from Japan, commanding a price similar to, or higher than its 100% Japan assembled rivals.

Unless prices drop to below S$60,000 at current COE levels of S$12K to S$15K, I'd say "There are many other better buys out there. Toyota sells purely on its branding. Its current high selling price of S$67,000 is not justified for a Thai assembled car with a outdated >10 yr old VVTi technology and 4 speed auto."

I'd advise those interested in the Corolla to get a Proton Wira anytime and enjoy 40% savings.
