Only Parathas Review
With my paratha-loving nieces in tow, I went in a group of 4 to this popular Mumbai restaurant. We decided to go after 12, as that was the time when rice and curry dishes would also be available. (the timings for these are 12-3p.m. & 7-11p.m.). The least expensive parathas are the plain ones, for less than Rs.100/- We ordered the plain Gobi Partha (Rs.90/-), Methi with Spring Onion Paratha (Rs.108/-) and Gobi with Pudina Paratha (Rs.108/-). Since even these single layer parathas are quite substantially large, we shared them between us. Even better, every paratha is accompanied with small quantities of black dal, chole, pickle and raita. The plain gobi paratha was just that – plain, with no great taste but the one combined with pudina was simply marvelous. The methi & spring onion combo was also great on the taste buds. The accompaniments were fairly good. My younger niece's all-time favourite is chole bhatura, so naturally that had to be ordered (Rs.63/-) it was extremely tasty with the right amount of spice and got full points from my fussy niece! There were a variety of pulaos, biryanis and rice items listed on the menu. We ordered the Jeera Rice (Rs.90/-), which was Ok. After that extremely filling meal, we did not have enough space to enjoy the traditional Punjab lassi, so settled for strawberry ice cream – nice!
Final Verdict : Authentic cuisine substantial quantity means you can share the meal (and the cost!) worth the price but definitely not the place to visit for weight-conscious diners!!
