When you step over the threshold of Nilgiris, your attention will immediately be drawn towards the pastries on display in the glass counters ahead of you. Chocolate dominates, while a couple of white cream pastries too jostle for space. I ordered the chocolate pyramid (Rs.24/- for a piece). It is a large triangular piece and at the first bite simply makes you close your eyes and savour its heavenly tast. A MUST buy when you visit this Cake shop! Another purchase was the Choco Roll (same price), similar to the Swiss Roll (which, unfortunately they did not have in stock). It is in the shape of a small log and is good, but not as delicious as the Swiss Roll that I had eaten on a previous visit. The Puffs are also filling (Rs. 8/-) but not as good as the ones I had at Adyar Bakery.
You can eat on the premises itself, as there are tables and chairs for seating arrangement. In fact, some of the bakery products are so tempting, it is guaranteed that you will want to sit right there and eat rather than wait till you reach home!
The staff are very courteous and pleasant, always serving with a genuine smile.
