Review: Worth buying!
Review By: Rakesh    Review Date: 26 Feb 2009

My friend wanted to buy a bike. After going throw all the review, I told him to buy Bajaj Pulsar 150, which is not only nice but its worth buying. His budget was 65K which was nice. We went to Bajaj showroom and had a test drive of 2-3 bikes but we selected Bajaj Pulsar 150. He loved it. He thanked me and said that I helped him buying this bike. We bought that bike and first off we went for a long drive. After so many years I ride on a bike. The look and style is so good. We bought the black one. It is a fast bike. Well, the first gear isn't almighty, but is pretty tall. A perfect blend of style and functionality, I would say. The posture is very flexible, very nice, very sexy. You can sit at ease on it, or you can go all-out and stick your nose into the petrol tank, hehehehee! I am not kidding!. Well, I love it. I think thats the first bike we bought after reviewing so much. Finally, a good choice, I can say.

The Bajaj Pulsar is the first bike in India which came in direct competition with the Hero Honda CBZ. Later Bajaj introduced Pulsar 150cc DTS-i with digital twin spark ignition and till today Pulsar is one of the most sought after bike in the 150cc segment. It has definitely won over other bikes, but let us justify its triumph.

Review: Buyers Pride!

Bajaj Pulsar is a bike with cool and muscular look. I am driving this bike from Last 3 years and don't face any type of problem. However Disc break is one the reason why accident happen with this bike. But if you drive carefully it will give you good results and also less maintenance.

This bike very much viewable on road as you will see every 3rd bike in your city is Pulsar. People complain about seats of previous versions of Bike as it did not provide good comfort however 150 DTSI is comfortable.

All the way I can give a buy status for this bike.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 ps not a small bike it gives good milage and the main plus point for this bike is it is available in so many colors and its shape is very attractive, with that it attract all bike users. The fuel consumption of this bike not bad. it gives good milege. The design of seat is modern and very comfort to sit on it, we can sit so much time on bike when driving. The breaks are very sharp of this model bikes we observe bikes on road we find all most 50% are pulsar. And gear shifts are very good. The bike has nice look.

bikes like Unicorn, CBZ Xtreme, etc., in its category. But the silver lining is that the sound ispretty constant at all speeds. i.e., you don't hear increased noise athigh speeds.

GEAR BOX : This model has perhaps the noisiest gearbox in its category. You have to be very careful while shifting. If you shift at relativelyhigher speeds for that gear, for example, if you are in the fourthgear, driving at say about 35kmph and you are slowing down, if youshift down to third gear at any speed above 18kmph, you'll hear a veryprominent, irritating click. This is very inconvenient at places whereyou want to drive constantly around say 25kmph. You'll have to go downto a very low speed first, shift down the gears and then go up again.
RIDING POSITION & COMFORT : Honestly, this is perhaps the mainreason behind this bike's phenomenal success. The riding position isextremely sporty. You have to bend forward for this bike much more thanyou might have had to do for any other bike. Once I took my bike for along ride - a round trip of 400kms. At the end of the ride, I didn'tfeel even an ounce of discomfort. But avoid riding in a position whereyou bend forward at all times. You might get backaches. Try to sit upand drive at times. But the rear suspensions leave a lot to be desired.Even if you move slowly over humps, you'll be shaken up badly.

Ask any Bajaj Pulsar 150 bike owner and unfortunately he has heaps of complaints on his bike. The drawbacks for the Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi include but not limited to:

* unmanageable gearbox
* worst ever manual transmission assembly and that they dont sync with the console
* ow-quality digital console that when it goes off, everything goes off
* turn radius getting stuck in a U-turn or a sharp turn
* more space to get out of parking
* magnificent front suspension, but very poor rear suspension (should be at least soft?)

To compensate the cons, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the DTSi are really good two-wheeler bikes. The earlier version of the Bajaj Pulsar 150 may not be that appealing and performance and handling hasnt been that exposed under much scrutiny. Nevertheless, when the Pulsar 150 DTSi dominated the market with an ignition-controlled system that works along with chip-controlled digital capacitor and discharge ignition system for exact timing under any circumstances, the Bajaj Pulsar 150cc became a hit.

Comparatively, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 s performance proved to have great pickup and easy-shift gears that offer comfort for a superb riding experience. Combustion is very efficient because of the dual-spark design that speeds up the motorcycles performance, and levels flame production. Since the advent of the DTSi, the new Pulsar accentuated with new features rather features that gives the bike a feel-good and rides-good advantage over its competitors in the same segment. They include:

1. the power output that the engine delivers
2. lighter yet strong alloy wheels that when joined with a longer wheelbase making the bike more stable with better agility
3. excellent shocks
4. less vibrations
5. conveniently laid out switches.

Finally, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi still has the looks technically, pickup and above average decent speed better mileage of three-four kilometer up per every liter of petrol relative to Bajaj Pulsar 150cc tires and brakes that give you a good standby in case of crashing into a clogging target.
