Marrybrown Restaurant, Adyar Review If you are a cricket fan and happen to be in the area during an all-important game, then drop in here and enjoy the game on the large screen TV. If you are with your family, then even better as this is a family restaurant and a fun-place for kids. Airy and reasonably spacious, there is a fish tank in one corner. Kids can have a blast at the two games machines. The brightly coloured trays on which the food is served has a sheet of paper with interesting puzzles for children.
Coming to the food…The potato wedges (Rs.30/-) are fried potatoes, nicely done, with just the right sprinkling of pepper. The student burger that I had (Rs. 25/-) was a huge disappointment. It was just an ordinary extra soft bread bun with a round cutlet inside and a desultory strand of onion on top. The bottle of sauce too was not up to the mark. The icecream scoop that I had after it was a mere couple of spoonfuls in a small plastic cup. It was a pathetic amount, considering the exorbitant price of Rs. 40/-. Also, ice creams should be of the lip-smacking type that makes you yearn for another and this definitely did not fulfil that criteria! It was quite artificial both in colour and taste.
Overall, definitely a disappointing experience.
