Sachin ka Dhaba / Dhaba Express, Teynampet Review This is one restaurant where we dont mind going if we get a chance to go. Every member in the family loves this place and when we have to go in a large group, we prefer this place as we like both the food and also the ambience. They have both outside eating place and an inside airconditioned hall. Every time, we get a chance to sit in one different hall. (There are a few mini halls to accomodate large families). When you step inside this place, you might not get a great appeal, but it is the real essence of this place, reminding you of the roadside Dhabas. This is the first Dhaba for Chennai and people really love this place. The long wooden benches and the cot type stools and long benches gives the perfect decor. The music they play is also quite loud like that you hear in the road side places. But when you get inside the ac halls, the music turns plesant.
If you want to taste good Punjabi food, this is the right choice. Though they have chinese vareities too, my personal recomendation will be not to taste that. You will loose the appetitie to taste the punjabi delicacies. Their starters are great hit and kids finish off their meal just by having the starters. Be it a dish made of panner, or baby corn or baby potatoes, they are crisp and up to the mark. Their Kulchas are soft and so are the other different rotis. You can get a set of 7 different vareities of rotis. The side dishes are also not too spicy. The pulavs or the briyanis taste heavenly and you can just eat them even without the side dishes. The jelabis they serve you are mouth watering. The food is reasonably priced. All that is needed is a decent car park. If you a bit late you wont get parking inside, as they can park only 4 small cars, and two big cars. But the side roads are free enough to park if you dont mind walking a few yards.
The lassi is a great end of food item if you are going there for lunch and the matka kulfi is the best if you are going for dinner.
