New Moon (2009) Review New Moon was a much awaited movie, after Twilight as the story continues further where it was left stranded in the first part. New Moon is the second part of the Twilight series. New Moon also was a highest grosser, just as Twilight was. Keeping up the legacy, I guess!
This movie starts from where it was left upon in the first part. Considering the threat Edward (Robert Pattinson) and his family pose to Bella (Kirsten Stewart), Edward decides to end the relationship and leaves Forks. This leaves Bella disheartened and she completely gets heart broken. With Edward out of her life, Bella is completely lonely and disheartened. Her father is not happy to see her that way and requests her to be with friends. For the sake of comforting her father and also herself, she befriends with Jacob (Taylor Lautner), who is very cheerful and a fantastic companion.
Bella is shown engaging herself in few activities like riding a bike and jumping off a cliff. She somewhere feels she can hear Edward deep inside her mind, whenever she is in danger.
Amidst all this she also discovers some deep secrets about Jacob and his friend's being werewolves. In fact, it's them who save her from one of the nomadic vampire, Laurent (Edi Gathegi) who had appeared in the first part. Jacob and his gang kill Laurent and save Bella.
But there's a twist in tale, when once that Bella tries to jump of the cliff, as a thrill seeking activity which makes her hear Edwards voice she is saved by Jacob at a nick of a time, but Edward on the other end feels that she is dead and tries to end his own life.
He visits the Volturis, with an intention of provoking them and getting killed. But thankfully, Bella comes to Italy with Alice and saves Edward. Edward is happy to see her alive and asks for her forgiveness as he had to leave her. He justifies his act by saying that whatever he did was for her own safety. Bella readily forgives him and Bella is to be transformed into a vampire in the forthcoming part.
I believe if some one had to be appreciated for his acting in the movie, then it has to be Taylor Lautner who plays Jacob. Its great to see how he has been carrying himself throughout the movie. Highly appreciable. Great job.
Many viewers who hadn't read the book definitely find the end disappointing. Cant blame them, as even though I had read the book still felt that the end could have been much better. I believe the second part was just as rocking as the first part was.
