Why Wada-Pav is available only in Mumbai & around ?
I have been to places all over India. But Wada-Pav is found only in Mumbai & around places...no where else.. There are few copy-cats but not WADA_PAV.

Its specialty in Maharashtra. You could not find other states item in Maharashtra too like Rasgulla. Vada-Pav is fast food for those who are in hurry. As Mumbai has huge population people love this item and it is easy to make.

Rajendra,
Every place has its own specalities and its own tradition.
This is the best thing it India. It has a lot of diversity. And so the food habits vary from place to place. Hence, you dont get everything every where. What avi said is very true.

Hi,

It's true that Vada Pav is available only in Mumbai and its suburbs. At the beginning days when I came to Mumbai, I was offered Vada pav as nastha, I do not know how to eat, so I ate vada initially and pav later. One of my collegue laughed by seeing this. Later I learned to eat.

It is a complete fast food as lunch or dinner.
