This is the actual process. But some mobile handset does not have the IMEI No. registered with TRAI.For this kind of mobile the user has to register the IMEI no. to TRAI by giving proper documents.

IMEI-INTERNATIONAL MOBILE EQUIPMENT IDENTITY .If you wish to know about the IMEI number of your phone just dial *#06# then you can see 15 digit Numbers!It is call as IMEI number!Those mobilephones which doesn't have IMEI number is being blocked by the Telephone Operators in India due to TRAI's order!

If u want yr IMEI number then just take off yr battery and behind that the IMEI number is written !! just check it !!
