How it works?
Thermal technology requires the use of thermal paper rolls. Some plain paper fax machines use printing technologies found in our regular printers. How it works?

How it works?
If you need to receive a fax from an external fax machine, your machine has the capacity to call for fax documents, which may be stored in the sending slot (out-tray) of the other fax machine. After both the machines have been set on the polling mode (by pressing the polling button), your machine calls the remote fax machines fax and then prints it out.
Benefits
This is normally used when you have to receive documents from another machine, but at your own cost. In other words, the receiving fax machine, not the transmitting fax machine initiates the transmission.

What it means?
This feature is common in Fax machines that helps physically straighten the curling effect of thermal paper.
How it works?
Thermal Fax machines need fax rolls (chemically treated paper obtained in the form of rolls) as printing material. The printed paper could be quite difficult to read as it curls. Some fax machines come with an anti curling system comprising of two rollers placed in a particular position to straighten (or reduce the curl on ) the paper after it has been printed on. Plain paper fax machines do not use this feature as the paper does not curl prior to (or after) the printing process.
