ANIIDCO, a Govt. undertaking engaged in operation of a 3 star hotel, called Megapode Resort in Port Blair, Andamans, has now set up “ Megapode Camping Resort".
Location
Megapode Camping Resort is located about 4 kms. From Port Blair city on the way to Corbyn's Cove beach. It is set amidst coconut groves on a hillock, overlooking the serene blue sea and spread over 15 hectares land.
Accommodation
The Camp consists of 4 furnished luxury A/C tents, 4 Non A/C Tents and 4 A/C Domes on raised concrete platforms having attached western toilets and verandah. From Veranda of the tent you can enjoy beautiful sea view. The tents are furnished with double bed, study table, luggage rack, TV, Sofa etc.
The Camp has a restaurant serving basic Indian and Chinese cuisine.
Activities
Apart from camp fire and enjoying beautiful sea view at the resort we arrange sightseeing as per following Itinerary:
Day 1 Harbour Cruise for a panoramic view of different points around Harbour including visit to Viper island.
Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail where freedom struggle is brought alive in a moving Son-et-Lumiere.
Day 2 Visit Coral island - North Bay
Day 3
City tour : Cellular Jail, Water Sports Complex, Corbyn"s Cove Beach, Anthropological Museum, Fisheries Museum and Shopping.
Day 4 Visit Ross Island erstwhile Capital during the British regime and now in ruin
Chidiyatapu beach the sunset point
Day 5 Visit Mount Harriet, the highest peak in South Andaman with lush green forest
