 History and description of Anna Centenary Library(ACL)
The Anna Centenary Library (ACL) was inaugurated by Kalaignar M.Karunanidhi on 16th September 2010 and now it is available for the public. The library was built in modern technology with eight floors. The building area of the library is about 3.75 lakh sq. ft. and it is located in Kotturpuram near to Chennai. The state Public Work Department had spent 180 Crores for this library. The library have books and journals on all major languages of India including two lakhs "E-books" and 20,000 "E-journals".

The Anna Centenary Library was networked and linked to all other libraries across the state by The famous Connemara Public Library in Chennai. It is also treated as the Oriental Manuscripts Library. It is also connected by World Digital Librar(WDL) by the digital edge connection. So it gives the chance to access the world wide information and share the knowledge with others. The library also include a special section for the visually impaired and physically challenged persons. It also has s separate section for Children for having the "Tree of Knowledge". The library also has an auditorium with the capacity of 1,280.
Timings: 9.00 AM to 7.00 PM on week days.
