 | | Triplicane Ratna cafe is famous for its idlies soaked in Sambar. A hot cup of coffee after a plate of Sambar idly (4 idlies) will make you forget everything. This particular branch in Triplicane is ther for over 3 to 4 generations, and I have heard lots of stories from my grandfather about this sambar idly. The quality is too high and this is a definite crowd puller.
This is a regular restaurant that serves all types of typical south indian vegetarian dishes (though now they have added the north Indian and chat items too to their menu), still their idly sambar is the best. You get a full jug of sambar to soak 4 idlies. (The best part is you need to tell stop to make the waiter stop pouring the sambar - customer service I beleive)
This is always crowded you need to keep your eyes open to get a table for yourself.
The only thing that I found a bit dissappointing is the lack of courteousness of the staff. They can be even more friendly and be prompt in attending the customers.
They now have an AC hall on the first floor.
