Khaaka Khaaka Review

Khaaka Khaaka (Tamil)
Genre: action
Stars: Suriya, Jothika
Director: Gautam Menon

A fast paced Tamil flick, a tight screenplay, hummable music and a good looking lead pair is what makes Khaaka Khaaka highly watchable
Beginning with the narration of ACP Anbuselvam (Suriya) lying wounded and almost hallucinating, viewers understand that he is part of the encounter wing. With his group of loyalists (lesser know actors), these encounter specialists try to uphold their vows of keeping the city crime free and wiping crime out literally through encounters. With this encounter group crouching on “Human Rights" violation, the group is disband and each of them transferred.
Anbuselvam, a loner, with no family and apparently no heart looses his heart to a IIT grad, M.Sc Maths teacher Maya (a beautiful Jo) who at first is averse to him and then seeks his help to save her student from a local group of “goondas". After earning her respect Anbuselvam almost loses her in a road accident. Saving her life, after a little introspection and push from Maya, he realizes he has the hearts for her
Meanwhile the encounter Group comes back to hunt a big thug. Killing the thug in a smartly planned encounter, the Group is happy at their victory but fail to realize that the thug's younger brother vows for revenge.
Anbuselvam receives threats from Small Brother thug and is unaware that small brother is the man that the department has been searching for, as a “most wanted" criminal. With one of his loyalist's killed by the small bro thug in an encounter, Anbuselvam wants to protect his lady love. Helped by another loyalist and his wife's , Anbuselvam and Maya pack off to Maya's small cottage away from the city to celebrate their wedding and togetherness.
Happiness is shot lived when the villain kidnaps Maya hurting and wounding Anbuselvam leaving him hallucinating about all the past events. Cut from the flash back, Anbuselvam is rescued by his team and brought to hospital
Anbuselvam finds out he is betrayed by one of his loyalists. The film then tracks Anubuselvam's search for Maya. What happens to Maya? What about the bad boys?
Khaaka Khaaka is a crisp film with wonderful performances from the lead team. Gautam has used sharp edits and a tight screenplay to keep audience thinking about “what happens next"
A must view for any one interested in a “mast" time pass
