Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander- Hindi Review Jo Jeeta wohi sikander
Genre: Drama Directed by Mansoor khan Cast: Aamir Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Pooja Bedia, Mamik and Kulbushan Karbanda
A well made copy of the Hollywood film Breaking Away, this film is all about losers or the lesser knows winning. A concept that the audience connect with easily, this film is set in the picturesque Dehradun. Ramlal, a café owner and physical instructor at the Model school, a school for the “middle class" of the town has two sons Ratan (Mamik) a cycling hero and Sanjay (Aamir Khan), a “not-so-serious about anything" guy. Ramlal dreams of Ratan winning the annual cycling race which is the best display of the rivalry between schools, especially the Rajput (school for the elite) and the Model school. Shekhar(Deepak Tijori) is the heart throb of the Rajputs' and an arch rival of Ratan.
The film has its turns and comic moments when the sexy Devika (Pooja Bedi), the heart-throb of all boys is being wooed by Sanjay whom she eventually dumps when Shekhar and gang expose his poverty. However Sanjay still finds love in the tomboyish girl of his gang Anjali (Ayesha Jhulka).
Closer to the race, Ratan is badly hit by Shekhar and gang and is unable to participate in the race. Just as Ramlal thinks that his dream would be shattered, Sanjay, the black sheep steps in with his intention to participate in the race. Sanjay ably assisted by his gang of friends, Ramlal and his brother Ratan begin training with all sincerity
The climax is the cycling race which has the audience cheering for the under-dog and then of course thefilm ends with the popular phrase – Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander!
The films highlights are the music, and the simple acreenplay and also the ease with which characters have portrayed their parts. A film that can be watched over and over again!
