Murugan Idly Shop - Besant Nagar Review
Murugan Idly shop at Besant Nagar was started in the year 2004. With three halls, one is non air conditioned and the other is air conditioned, this place is full all the time. The place is located near the besant nagar beach and one can enjoy hot idlies and tasty sakkarai pongal whenever you go to the beach. The ambience in the non-airconditioned hall is not so as expected.
We all went there very hungry and with kids. But have to wait for quite a long time to get served inspite of we getting tables to sit. (The excuse given was it is the time between lunch and evening tiffin time). But later on enquiry we were told that we could have booked before coming to eat. (We were coming back from visitng Dakshin Chitra). So we ceremoniously took down the phone number.
But the food served there was really up to the mark and upto our expectation. Kids loved the sambar and the 6 different vareity of chutneys. They give unlimited sambar and chutney and we were reminded of a bucket of sambar for a plate of idly. We the elders loved the coffee served to us. It was served as we asked for, strong, hot less sugar.
A best place to eat out after a good time in the beach.
