Updatestar 3.2 Freeware Edition Review Overall a decent product that will keep your software updated. The premium version promises certain more features like minor level updates, information of the security level of the product and other few features. However it has certain points that do not bode well for it as I will state below:
The good: 1) Timely updates. 2) Good and easy to use interface. (MS Office 2007 ribbon interface). 3) Free
The bad: 1) No documentation provided (Online help present). 2) As seen in the screenshot the updates list version numbers do not match. (See screenshot, especially for Sun xVM Virualbox Guest Additions). 3) After clicking the direct download link for some programs on the Updatestars website for certain products, I actually got an older version of the product. 4) After closing the program, it still stays in the computers memmory without leaving any icon in the notification area.
Overall it is more convinient way to download updates for the software installed on your computer then checking each products websites for newer versions, but certain interface bugs do not make this product very reliable.
