Mitr, My Friend (2002) Review I am not a big movie fan. I dont feel bad in saying I watch very little movies.
This movie I could understand because of the story line. A problem between a mother and a teen aged daughter, a mother who fully immersed in her culture and the upbringing she had had in her childhood and the daughter who wants to break out of all those customs held sacred by her mother.
Father as a connecting relationship between the mother and daughter does a very beautiful job of bringing a change to his wifes mentalities. Through net he advises his wife as a third person would and becomes her confidente.
I liked the movie very much as I could identify myself in the mothers role. But it was my children who changed me and brought me out of the shell and not my husband, that is the only difference.
Revathy has done a fantastic job as a director and all the three main characters Nasir, Shobana and Divya have done their parts very well. Shobana being an actress and a dancer herself could bring out beautiful expressions and nuances to her part in the movie.
