Dell-XPS M1330 (Core2 Duo T7100) Review

Dell always has a knack of reading the pulse of the market and coming up with various models to suit the market. This one is best suited if you are a gamer. Yeah it has a 128 MB Nvidia GE Force Graphic Card. If you are not a tech savvy the graphic card is the one which helps the processor to render high quality graphics which are required in various current games. The Core 2 Duo processor helps you to work with various applications at a single time.

But now a days most of the gaming softwares requires huge memory space. Even though Nvidia helps you with graphics to run the software smoothly you would still require the high ram. This model comes with a 2GB ram. Is this enough. Yes it is if you are a non-regular gamer and dont use multiple applications at a time. If you try testing this u might need to grow up your patience level as the applications become slow.

Dell has provided a 160GB hard disk. You get ipods these days for this size. And the major thing is DELL provides Windows Vista. Again if you are a non-tech savvy, vista is a 64-bit operating system. Hence it will occupy more memory when compared to XP. Windows XP with all the memory updates enabled occupies 5 GB(and still growing). You can very well calculate it.

As with the current trend Dell comes with the DVD writers. You can play CD,DVDs etc.,. You can also write a DVD in 8X speed. So if you need to store your personal files in a different medium, write in on a CD or DVD.

As of the Input/Output Ports, I wonder why Dell has provided only fewer USB ports when around the world most of the electronic devices are connected to the laptop/pc via a USB port. The other good thing is the 8-in-1 card reader. You can use this to read the memory cards in your mobile or any other memory card. But I wont agree that it is a good replacement to USB ports!!!!!
