Culture Curry Review The informal atmosphere of the restaurant encourages one to dine with the family. In fact, it is a sensible idea to dine in a group as the prices are high and one can share the food and the costs. Also, it is better to make an advanced reservation especially if you visit during a food festival.
The air-conditioned restaurant has a traditional decor, with wooden carvings dominating. The menu is an ecletic mix of Chettinad, Hyderabadi, Kerala, Andhra, Manglorean and Coorgi cuisine. There are also unique cocktails and a separate wine list.
Begin your meal with a refreshing appetizer of mint-and-lime flavoured coconut water. Since the main meal is an elaborate one, you can skip the soup. We ordered baby brinjals, which were soft and succulent, served in a gravy. With rotis we had baby potatoes and a mixed vegetable dish known as avial. The aromas and taste of both dishes were good, but not that outstanding to merit the high prices. The non-vegetrain members of our group enjoyed the butter chicken so much that they vowed to visit again just for that one dish! From the rice dishes on the menu, we shared the vegetable biryani which too was ok. Since the meal was on the heavy side, we opted out of the dessert.
Overall it was a fairly good meal but the prices we found absurd.
